Location, Cities and Climates

If your city is not represented, it is recommended that you choose an available city that resides in the same climate zone as the city which is not available.

If a specific city or climate zone is needed and not represented in the Facade Design Tool, it is recommended that you download COMFEN and run simulations specific to your design and climate.

COMFEN has a default North American and international Location Library. You can customize the Library by importing into COMFEN weather files in the appropriate format.

"Refine & Explore" first lets you choose the available design parameters then you can refine and explore the ranked results. Use this exploratory method if parametrics are unknown or to determine the optimal design from various scenarios.

"Compare 5 Scenarios" lists the design parameters for 5 scenarios for a quick comparison. Use this comparison method if many of the design parametrics are previously determined.

Facade Orientation

Orientation of the perimeter zone is available in each of the four cardinal directions: north, east, south and west.

If an facade orientation is needed and not represented in the Facade Design Tool, it is recommended that you download COMFEN and run simulations specific to your design and climate.
